  Pentagon Channel > Cadets Share Experiences with Worldwide Audience
The Pentagon Channel, which provides news to 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide, visited Mary Baldwin College last week to highlight unique aspects of the Virginia Women's Institute for Leadership and the drive many of its cadets find to commission into the U.S. Armed Forces.

Although Junior Dads and Family Weekend is rooted in MBC's residential College for Women, the event is open to non-traditional members of the campus community. And this year, Jessica Coates, a student in the college's Adult Degree Program, is taking full advantage.

  Reunion 2010 > SAVE THE DATE: REUNION 2011, APRIL 7–10
Reunion registration materials will be mailed and online registration will be available in January 2011. In the meantime, check out the Reunion website for information, such as a schedule and hotels in the area. Here are a few special events to note:
   
  • HONORING DR. GARRISON: In keeping with the wishes of Dr. Joe Garrison, alumnae/i, colleagues, and friends will gather in Grafton Library to remember the former professor who passed away in May. The college community is invited to participate April 9, 2011. Look for details at www.mbc.edu/reunion or contact alumnae@mbc.edu.
  • MEMORY TREE: Longtime director of safety and security John Kelly will be memorialized with a brief dedication and tree planting April 8, courtesy of the Staunton alumnae/i group.
  • SHOP LOCAL: Alumnae/i entrepreneurs who market their their own products and those who are sales partners in larger companies are invited to participate in the first Alumnae/i Bazaar on April 8 and 9. All alumnae/i are invited to set up shop in what promises to be a diverse MBC market. Contact alumnae@mbc.edu for details and to sign up.

  Squirrels for Haiti > SQUIRRELS FOR HAITI: In an effort to continue MBC's service in the global community, the African-American and Multicultural Alumnae Network of Mary Baldwin College created the "Squirrels for Haiti" project. In collaboration with United Methodist Committee on Relief, the group hopes to provide pre-packaged health kits to aid in ongoing Haiti relief endeavors.
